EXPORT

Our products are distributed mainly through Holland where our partner DUTAFIC ensures the onward distribution in Europe and beyond. The vast markets of these countries do count on us for African produce, often in high demand by the immigrant communities, which are large consumers of the types of fruits and vegetables cultivated in Uganda.

The small neighborhood shops and stores that serve the immigrant communities can acquire our produce at the large markets of their cities. We are in the process of expanding our operations, and will soon open new points of sales in markets throughout Europe’s large cities, targeting also a broader class of consumers. Markets in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Export Philosophy

Nile Fresh Produce’s export philosophy is based on two pillars, speed and vigilance, allowing the company to guarantee the maximum freshness and quality of its products in the European and Middle East market.

We monitor each step of the production, procurement, and distribution process, a rarity in a sector where these steps are normally relegated to different companies.

The speedy transport and distribution, always within 36 hours of harvesting and always via refrigerated compartments, provides an additional guarantee of the quality and freshness of Nile Fresh Produce’s fruits and vegetables.

OUR CAPACITY

In Nwoya District, we have a grains and pulses facility that cleans and dries maize, rice, soya bean and simsim. It is from here that produce from farmers is aggregated for processing, storage and eventual shipment to target off-takers.

Mechanization

On the 10,000 acres of the land we own our nucleus farm  in Nwoya District,  we are fully mechanized operating with 12 tractors and 4 combine harvesters each with capacity of harvesting 200 tons of maize and 100 tons of soya bean a day. At full capacity land utilisation we are able to yield an average of 10,000 tons of maize on 5,000 acres,  2,000 tons of soya bean on 2,000 acres and 4,500 tons of rice on 3,000 acres. Simsim and sunflower will continue to be farmed on short term leased land for the next couple of seasons.
